USB Powered BBQ ...

This is one hell of a mod. Using 30 USB ports spread out over five USB PCI cards, this barbeque was created. The PC is still functional, too. Enjoy cooking a 1 ounce steak on that tiny grill......

FairUse4WM strips Windows Media DRM!

A new app called FairUse4WM can be used to strip Windows Media DRM 10 and 11 (i.e. PlaysForSure, but not WM DRM 9). We tried FairUse4WM and we can verify that it quickly and easily stripped the DRM from our Napster To Go tracks, and made them freely available to play on our Mac.

Linux Flash 9 Player Making Progress

In the most recent blog post on Penguin.SWF, Mike Melanson notes that all Flash-based sites he checked recently, Flash 9 for Linux was completely stable. Now they're moving on to more specific feature tests. Here's hoping it comes out soon!

Google Analytics Now Open To Everyone

The Google Analytics Blog has announced that you no longer need an invitation to receive the Website statistics tracking for free. Just head on over to the Google Analytics site and login with you Google account. It will then take you through the steps that are needed to setup your Website.

AOL busted for spamming DIGG

AOL has now been publicly called out for spamming on Digg. It was discussed in a Digg topic yesterday. Despite Calacanis' efforts, the anti-AOL commenter still got +28 diggs. Let's force this to the main page so Digg can take action. They do the exact thing on Digg that gets people banned from Netscape. (Contains list of 25+ spam accounts).

1 Terabyte HD Due This Year, HD Turns 50

Desktop hard drives holding 1 terabyte, or 1,000 gigabytes, of storage will likely debut in 2006 according to Hitachi. Meanwhile, the HD will turn 50 on Sept. 13th. The first magnetic drive, the RAMAC created by IBM, weighed a ton and could hold 5MB of data on 50 24-inch circumference platters.
