Playstation 3 games aren't 1080p

After all the 1080p this and true hd that posturing, Unreal Tournament and Virtua Fighter 5 reveal they will be running at the same 720p xbox 360 games do. With few 1080p HDTVs out anyway, is 1080p gaming a reality on the PS3 and does it even matter?
